In 1936, Jack Frederickson came to Twin Falls to open and manage an ice cream store. Soon after on October 1, 1937 Jack became the sole proprietor and changed the name to Frederickson's Ice Cream. Jack's father later suggested he learn to make and sell handmade candy, henceforth Frederickson's Ice Cream and Fine Candies was born. Although the store has changed locations a couple of times and has stopped making ice cream, it has always been managed and operated by family members.

Jack cooked candy and ran the store until the age of 93. Even when he could no longer make candy, he would grace the store daily with his knowledge and presence until his passing. Jack instilled family into the business and vice versa. Along with his wife, Bonnie, numerous family members have learned the Frederickson's way. From his brothers to sons and daughters, grandchildren to great grandchildren they all share the rare experience and opportunity to work in this wonderful candy environment. The company is unique and so is the man who created it. Currently the responsibility of being the primary chocolatier is in the capable hands of Jack's granddaughter, Angie along with invaluable operational knowledge from daughter, Mary and grandson, Nathan. Together they help keep Frederickson's traditions intact and move the business towards a bright and growing future.

Our chocolates are handmade daily in our shop. From rolling out the smooth creams to hand dipping the nuts and toffee, we incorporate the same techniques and methods used over the last 81 years. This way we can ensure the same quality and excellence our loyal customers have come to love and expect from Frederickson's Fine Candies.
